This policy explains what personal information Boo Inc. ("Boo", "we", "us") collects through theboo.ai and when you buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website and our store. The Boo device and its software will have their own privacy information, which we'll publish before it ships.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Order details: your name, email address, shipping address, optional phone number, what you ordered, and your order history.
- Payment details: you enter card and billing details on a secure payment page hosted by our payment processor, Authorize.net. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as card type and last four digits. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
Information collected automatically
- Your bag: what's in your bag is saved in your own browser's local storage so it's there when you come back. It isn't sent to us until you check out.
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider receives standard request data, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to deliver and secure the site.
We don't currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your order, including refunds, returns and warranty claims.
- To email you about your order, such as confirmations, ship dates, delays and tracking.
- To prevent fraud and keep our site and systems secure.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.
We'll only send you marketing email if you've asked for it, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as payment processing (Authorize.net), website hosting (Vercel), email, and shipping carriers. They may use it only to provide services to us.
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
- A buyer or successor if Boo is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep order information for as long as needed to fulfil and support your order and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, generally up to 7 years. Then we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop marketing emails, by writing to info@theboo.ai. Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states, you may have additional rights, such as to know what we've collected and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (which we don't do). We'll verify your request and respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. You can use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and a PCI-compliant payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Our store isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
